Welcome to Paper Windows Journal

Welcome to the Paper Windows journal. A place to learn more about us, look at awesome pictures, and learn about photography.

A bit of background about myself – I am a Florida native – I actually grew up nearby about an hour west of Tallahassee. Right out of high school I moved to Miami, where I attended art school and worked in the fashion industry for about 8 years. During my time in Miami, I really explored the arts, and was able to travel to Fashion Week through the years and work with famous photographers with my daily work. This lead me to my own photography hobby – I loved photographing my travels across the world.

I then moved to Texas to pursue my own endeavors and started a clothing accessory company that I ran for over 10 years. During that time I was responsible for everything but also was able to really explore photography in different aspects – commercial product photography and children’s advert photography. All of these contributed to the success of my company and then COVID hit. During the COVID 19 shutdown not only did we hit hard times, but I had decided I wanted to pursue my other passion full time – data science. I left my company and pursued formal data science and now work as a data architect. Through my time in tech I have further explored photography while being able to incorporate technology.

Then comes my family – just a few short years ago I had my first baby – and I found I really lots of pictures. Not iPhone pictures, and not studio pictures (which I do have and are great), and not sitting in a field (which I also have and are great) but I wanted beautiful candid shots. So, I began taking pictures of my family, so many of my little boy, then friends and family. I really wish I had captured more in the beginning, those first few days. Everything was such a whirlwind I just didn’t get hardly any pictures, and now in retrospect, they would have been the most important ones I have.

This is why I decided to offer a limited selection of photography as a service – only within my style of expertise and only within my focus of expertise. Families, mothers and babies. Becoming a mother was the most amazing and challenging part of my life so far, and I have so much admiration for women and mothers – I want to capture the real pictures that will mean the most to you down the line.
